எலும்புகள்

man_bones நமது உடலில் தோலையும் தசையையும் நீக்கிவிட்டால் மிஞ்சுவது எலும்புக்கூடுமட்டுமே. எலும்புக்கூட்டிற்கு எலும்புச்சட்டம் என்று பெயர்.

bones_ உடலுக்கு ஆதாரமாகவும் தசை நரம்புகளுக்கு பற்றுக்கோடாகவும் இருப்பது எலும்புக்கூடுதான். மூளை, கண், இதயம், நுரையீரல் போன்ற மென்மையான உறுப்புகளுக்கு பாதுகாப்பாக இருப்பதும் இந்த எலும்புச்சட்டம்தான். எலும்பில் 50% நீரும், 33% உப்புக்களும், 17% மற்ற பொருட்களும் உள்ளன. எலும்பில் கால்சியம் பாஸ்பேட் போன்ற அமிலத்தில் கரையக்கூடிய தாதுப்பொருள் மற்றும் தீயில் எரிந்துபோகும் கரிமப்பொருளும் உள்ளன. நமது உடல் நலத்திற்கு வேண்டிய கால்சியம் எனும் இரசாயனப்பொருட்கள் எலும்புகளில்தான் சேமித்து வைக்கப்படுகிறது.

எலும்புகள் ஒன்றுடன் ஒன்று பொருந்தி இருந்தால்தான் சீரான முறையில் அவைகள் செயல்பட முடியும். அவ்வாறு பொருந்தும் இடங்களுக்கு மூட்டுகள் என்று பெயர்.

bones மூட்டுகள் இரண்டு தன்மைகள் உடையனவாக இருக்கின்றன. முதலாவது அசையும் மூட்டு. இரண்டாவது அசையா மூட்டு. இடுப்பிலும் மண்டையிலும் காணப்படும் எலும்புகள் அசையாத மூட்டுகள். அசையும் மூட்டுகளில் நான்கு வகைகள் உள்ளன. பந்துக்கிண்ண மூட்டு, கீல் மூட்டு, வழுக்கு மூட்டு, செக்கு மூட்டு என்று அவைகளுக்குப்பெயர்.

அசையும் மூட்டுகள் இயங்கும்போது அதிர்ச்சியோ தேய்வோ ஏற்படாமல் இருப்பதற்காக, எலும்புகளின் முனைகள் குருத்தெலும்புகளால்மூடப்பட்டு, அதன் உட்புறத்தில் ஒரு மெல்லிய திசுப்படலம் இருக்குமாறும் அதில் ஒரு வழுவழுப்பான திரவம் சுரக்குமாறும் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மூட்டுகள் அசையும்போது எலும்புகள் நழுவக்கூடும். அவ்வாறு நழுவாமல் இருக்க மூட்டுகள் உறுதியான தசைநார்களால் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளன.

I am Professor of Botany-PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore I has been the editor of Kalaikathir since 1985 till sept 2008. Now I have relinquished the post for want of wider writing. Now I am writing science column to TamilOsai daily "Indraiya Arivial" I found most of my writing in Kalaikathir appearing in Arivial section of Keetru, being sent by a person named Gurumoorthi. It is really gratifying to my writing appears in the net. Total number of my scince popular writing is around 7000. Yes it is true. I couple of months back counted the number it was so. I myself didnot believe this. It took me two months to collect the writings that appeared in Kalaikathir since 1984. I was the one writing Iyangal Ayiram in Dhinamalar for the past 8 years. The number of seicne questions I have answered till now in kalaikathir, Dhinamalar and eleswhere is around 10,000. For the past 5 years I have been answering seince questions live in a FM radio namely Gnana Vani 91.9 . People of all walk of life ask questions through telephone. I answer them immediately. the branches of scinece I answere include 42 subdivisions. from Nano to Cosmology. I love Sociobiology and Evolutionary psychology. Now I am at your disposal. Kindly make use me. Now I am going to retire from college service. and will be full time writer. be in correspondence. I shall send an article for Ketru now for your perusal and for public. Because I think, scientific knowledge the only thing carried us to the great future. At the same time we dont lose our tamil culture. Because tamil is not only a language. Its a culture. So I happy about all the tamil scientific books coming from this generation. I pray god to keep continue all thier works. Thank you
